River safari on the Zambezi River

Our partner in Zambia is one of the few companies authorised to sail on the section of the Zambezi River known as “Lower Zambezi”, i.e. the section closest to Victoria Falls. With specially-designed boats, it is possible to sail all the way over to the small islands situated above the waterfall and get a good view of the “smoke that thunders” and all the rainbows that form in the spray.

Occasionally, you may be lucky enough to see hippos lying in the water like small islands, or perhaps an elephant who has come down to the river bank to bathe. Birds are always drawn to the water. They sit on the branches that extend out over the water, looking for insects, while the crocodiles lie hidden, sunning themselves.

There is a river safari several times a day, but we highly recommend a boat trip at sunset, when a sundowner cocktail is served on board.

The tour takes approx. 2 hours.

The tour goes ahead when there are at least 2 people
