Gorilla Safari Lodge

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Just a few minutes on foot from the Rushaga gate to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, the atmospheric Gorilla Safari Lodge sits on a green mountainside. The lodge’s location on a slope gives it a fantastic view of the forest and its mountains.

The lodge consists of 16 spacious cottages, putting you in a perfect frame to relax after an exciting day of gorilla tracking. All the cottages have their own bathroom and private balcony featuring a fantastic view of the untouched tropical rainforest.

In the largest cottage, you can find the lodge restaurant and bar with the lounge area. Here, you can enjoy a well-earned bit of dinner while you think back on your eventful day in the forest. Haven Lodge

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Right next to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in Western Uganda, the beautiful Haven Lodge can be found. Located on a slope just above the national park, the lodge offers a unique view of the park.

At the lodge’s lounge area and restaurant, there are rich opportunities to enjoy the view as you taste delicious foods prepared by Ugandan chefs who fuse the African kitchen with the international using local raw ingredients. The lodge restaurant will also prepare a packed lunch for you to bring out and eat when you’re on the trip, off gorilla tracking.

After a long day on the lookout for gorillas, you can treat yourself to a relaxing massage session at the lodge or relax as you think back on your eventful day.


Ichumbi Lodge

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

At the outskirts of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, just 10 minutes on foot from the park’s Rushaga gate, is the pleasant Ichumbi Lodge on a lush mountainside clad in decorative plants and trees.

All the rooms are equipped with a private balcony, from which you can take in the lush landscape and the green trees of the Bwindi forest. Private bathrooms with hair dryers are also included in every room.

The main building with its restaurant, bar and lounge area is placed at the top of the slope and offers not only a picture-perfect view, but also countless clean, fresh air from the forest and its many trees as you get a bite to eat. From the main building, there is a path that takes you directly to the Rushaga gate and into the national park.


Mahogany Springs Lodge

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

At the border of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, right next to a small river, is the charming lodge Mahogany Springs. The lodge is a perfect base for your Gorilla tracking adventure, as it features not only a spectacular view of the woods, but also gives you the chance to stand face to face with a gorilla, as these peaceful creatures often visit the lodge from time to time.

The lodge’s spacious thatched-roof cottages in a traditional African style all feature mosquito nets over their beds, private bathrooms with fine terracotta details and their own balcony with a view of the lush forest.

The main building features a large panorama terrace, which stretches all the way across the front of the building. Here, you can enjoy the view of the woods while listening to the forest birds and the babbling river. Out here, among the relaxing sounds of nature, you can also eat your breakfast and dinner or take afternoon tea, unless you would prefer to eat indoors in the warmth of the roaring fireplace. Breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner are included.

After dinner, you can sit down and relax by the fireplace with a good book or a board game, or you can sit down in one of the sofas on the balcony and look out over the forest.

2 Friends Beach Hotel

Entebbe

Situated a short, 10-minute drive from the airport in Entebbe is the pleasant 2 Friends Beach Hotel. With its location out by Lake Victoria, the hotel has a beautiful view of the lake and the lush nature surrounding it.

The hotel consists of only 16 rooms, which helps give it a nice, homey and intimate atmosphere. All the rooms are beautifully decorated with colourful art on the walls, decorative furniture and elegant mosquito nets over each bed. Each room also has its own private bathroom, TV and Wi-Fi.

In the middle of the hotel’s pleasant little garden, among palm trees and small bushes, is the outdoor pool. Here, you can take a refreshing dip or relax on one of the lounge chairs while enjoying a cool drink from the hotel’s little bar.

From the restaurant, which is located right down by the edge of the lake and the hotel’s private beach, you can grab a bite of the delicious food and sip your drink while enjoying the light breeze and magnificent view of the lake.


Mihingo Lodge

Lake Mburo National Park

Right next to Lake Mburo National Park is the beautiful Mihingo Lodge on the slope of a mountain formed from granite more than 500 million years ago. At its high location, the lodge has a spectacular view of the park.

From the lodge swimming pool, you can enjoy a fantastic view of the valley below, where buffalo, impala, wild boars, zebras and many other savannah animals often gather at the watering hole. On the cliffside, you may be lucky enough to spot one of the rarely seen klipspringers who live there.

Even at the lodge’s pleasant thatched-roof restaurant at the top of the mountain you can watch the majestic animals at the waterfalls and enjoy the magnificent sunset over the park, as you are served one of the delicious dishes made from local raw ingredients and the bounty of the lodge’s own garden. A cool breeze from Lake Kachera also helps make the restaurant the ideal place to cool off on a hot day.


Rwakobo Rock

Lake Mburo National Park

Rwaboko Rock is a charming little family-owned lodge just outside Lake Mburo National Park. The lodge consists of eight cabins, each with its own bathroom with shower and mosquito net over the beds. The rooms are spartan, but nice and clean.

The view from the restaurant takes most people’s breath away. A nearby watering hole often attracts thirsty animals at sunset, so dinner is often enjoyed overlooking zebras and impalas.

There are Wi-Fi and chargers in the communal areas, and the lodge also has a refreshing little pool.


Enjojo Lodge

Queen Elizabeth National Park

At the border to the Ishasha sector of the Queen Elizabeth National Park is the charming Enjojo Lodge, right in the lush nature with palm trees, grasslands and an acacia forest with growing pains.

These lush surroundings make the nature around the lodge rich in bird life, and you can even regularly spot herds of elephants, buffalo and antelopes in the area. Green macaques, baboons and black/white mantled guereza monkeys can also be found in the surrounding nature. The grounds of the lodge are so big that you can go out and experience the fascinating animal life on a guided safari on foot without leaving the grounds.

The lodge itself was built by local craftsmen, who exclusively used local materials to suit the surroundings. Most of the furniture and decorations were hand-made by the local population as well.

At the straw-strewn restaurant and bar, you can enjoy delicious home-cooked food or a lovely drink as you admire the picturesque nature and the beautiful little natural lake.


Kingfisher Lodge Kichwamba

Queen Elizabeth National Park

In West Uganda, just outside of Queen Elizabeth National Park, is the beautiful Kingfisher Lodge. With its location on a slope 250 metres above the plains, the lodge has a phenomenal view of the national park.

The lodge consists of “bandas” cabins, which resemble characteristic cabins from a small African village. From the cabins, which are spread across the slope, and of which some are divided into floors, there is gorgeous view of the plains and the traditional African landscape. The cabins house 18 modern rooms furnished with comfortable beds and private bathrooms.

There is a rich opportunity to enjoy the peerless view of the plains from the lodge restaurant. Next to the restaurant is a small bar and a small lounge area, so you can enjoy the view and a cold drink at the same time.

Even the lovely swimming pool, which is also divided into several floors on the slope, lets you enjoy the view of the beautiful park as you relax.

Parkview Safari Lodge

Queen Elizabeth National Park

Parkview Safari Lodge is situated at the edge of Queen Elizabeth National Park and boasts a spectacular panorama view of the national park and the mountains. On a good day, you may even be lucky enough to spot the elephants eating breakfast in the park from the lodge.

From the pool area, you can also take in the magnificent view as you float in the swimming pool or unwind under the parasol on one of the sun beds. Next to the swimming pool is the lodge’s restaurant, which offers a wide range of authentic African dishes as well as food from the international kitchen. The raw ingredients are fresh, and local fishers bring fresh catches every day from place such as the Kazinga Canal and Lake Edward.

The lodge also has many other facilities, including a bar, sauna, steam bath, massage clinic, gift store, library and a study, where you can read more about the national park. Wi-Fi is also available in all of the lodge’s common areas.
