Mara Simba Lodge

Situated on the banks of the Talek River is the 4-star Mara Simba Lodge. The lodge was built with respect for the surrounding nature, so the fact that it has 84 rooms comes as something of a surprise. The pleasant garden is well kept and full of butterflies and exotic birds, but just outside the lodge area, the wild nature prevails. Built mainly from natural materials in neutral colours, the lodge oozes safari ambience from the moment you set set foot inside. The communal areas afford a lovely view of the river, so you can look out for elephants coming down to the river to drink as you eat your breakfast. The lodge has a pool, restaurant, bar and even a small souvenir shop.

The rooms are located in small clusters of six rooms to a “house”, all of which are just two storeys high. All of the “houses” are linked to each other and the main building by a series of raised walkways, all of which are well lit in the evening. The rooms are spacious with an en suite bathroom and a private veranda.

If you want an even more authentic African safari experience, you can choose to upgrade to a tent at Mara Simba Lodge. The tent has its own terrace and own bathroom, but canvas walls so you can hear and smell the nature right outside. It’s a true African safari experience!
