Did you know that no two giraffes have the same pattern? Like human fingerprints, each giraffe has its own unique pattern. Viewed from a distance, all giraffes look pretty much like, well, giraffes, so if you want to check out the pattern up close, a visit to Giraffe Centre in Nairobi might be just the thing for you. Learn more about giraffes, get right up close to them and feed them from an elevated platform that brings you up to the height of the big animals.
There is also a small hiking trail here, offering every opportunity to see birds – or perhaps the small dik-dik.
A visit to the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust elephant orphanage in Nairobi is a wonderful experience.
Visitors are invited inside the “orphanage” every day at noon, giving you the chance to see the baby elephants being given a bottle by their carers. It’s a fun and touching experience, and you can get right up close to the little elephants and hear more about the work of the foundation.
The elephant orphanage is moreover located on the edge of Kenya’s first national park, Nairobi National Park.
