Today is departure day, and you will be flying to Kenya with connecting flight(s) on the way.

You land in Nairobi in the morning, where you are met by our local guide. He will drive you to the small domestic airport, Wilson Airport, from which you will fly directly to Masai Mara. You might even be lucky enough to spot your first wild animals from the air. Upon your arrival at Masai Mara, you will be picked up by your guide for the next few days and driven to your lodge where you will be spending three nights.

The Masai Mara game reserve is the Kenyan part of the vast Serengeti ecosystem and, in the rainy season, home to probably the world’s largest concentration of wildlife. You are in with a chance of seeing elephants, wildebeest, zebras, hippos, giraffes, gazelles and, of course, lions, leopards and cheetahs. But it is not only the diversity that makes Masai Mara unique; the sheer number of animals also takes most people’s breath away. It’s not uncommon to see herds of hundreds of gazelles grazing on a hilltop. Really something to look forward to!

The next few days are spent on safari in Masai Mara. After a hearty breakfast, it’s time to head off. You will often be out all day to ensure you get the most out of it. On such days, there will be a packed lunch for you in the cool box, which is usually consumed in the shade of an acacia tree in the middle of the savannah. It doesn’t get much more African than that!

What the days have in store for you is impossible to say! Naturally, the animals are the most important things, but do remember to notice the changing landscapes, the light that changes during the day and the multitude of different smells that hit you as you stand in the car looking for lions lying in the shade of a tree, digesting their prey from the night before. Life in Masai Mara is beautiful and sometimes unpredictable, but this is all part of the charm, and you can never get enough of Masai Mara!

The time has come to say goodbye to Masai Mara and head for the Kenyan coast with its white sand beaches. You will fly from Masai Mara to Diani Beach, where you will be met at the airport by our local guide and driven to your hotel. You will spend 5 nights at Kenya’s longest and probably most beautiful beach, Diani Beach. The sand is white and the water turquoise blue. Palm trees provide shade from the sun, and the small town near your 5-star resort offers a few shops and a couple of restaurants.

The days are your own to relax or enjoy experiences by the coast.

You will be picked up from the hotel and driven to the airport, where your journey home starts.
